“Why Do You Think Hoodoo Is Evil?”

This isn't a lecture — it's an honest forum. We start with the question everyone's afraid to ask out loud: where did your belief that Hoodoo is evil actually come from? Church? Family? Something you saw on TV and never questioned? From there, we widen the lens — to how society brands and stereotypes Black culture more broadly, from the way we wear our hair to the way we speak, and how carrying that weight affects us spiritually as a collective. For anyone who's stepped away from church, there's space to talk about what led you there, too — no judgment, no correcting anyone's beliefs, just real listening. You'll leave with a printed pamphlet of reflection worksheets, including an ancestry research assignment to bring back to the next class. Join the email for class information.
